About Me

Daniel Aisenberg is a clarinet player, teacher, and chamber musician based in Austin, TX. He has performed with many chamber groups, orchestras, and can be heard in several recordings. Before moving to Texas, Daniel was a substitute clarinet in Symphony of the Lakes in Warsaw, IN. In June 2024, Daniel will be performing with the University of Texas Wind Ensemble at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Aisenberg has taught students at Carmel High School, one of the best band programs in country, and directed the Carmel Clarinet Choir which earned a perfect score at district and state competition in 2022. Currently, he teaches at Danielson Middle School and Glenn High School in Leander, TX and, beginning this summer, Daniel will be teaching at the Indiana Clarinet Experience, a week-long clarinet intensive camp located at Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Some notable performances for Daniel include playing principal clarinet on Mahler Symphony No. 5 in UT Symphony Orchestra (Nov 2022) and principal clarinet on Respighi’s Pines of Rome in IU Philharmonic Orchestra (Feb 2020). He can also be heard on IU Chamber Orchestra’s recording of Henry Cowell’s American Melting Pot and the upcoming album of Arnold Rosner’s works for wind band which will be released in June 2024.

Daniel found his passion for chamber music at the age of 13 while attending Interlochen Arts Camp and has participated in a variety of wind and mixed string chamber groups during his high school and post-secondary studies.

Because of his active involvement in music in the Chicagoland area, Daniel has performed in venues such as the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park, the Harris Theater, Symphony Center, Ravinia Festival’s Pavilion and Bennett Gordon Hall, Northwestern’s Pick-Stagier Concert Hall, and the Chicago Cultural Center. Daniel also performed at the Grand Ole Opry with the All-National Band in 2015.

Daniel holds degrees from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (BM ‘20) and University of Texas Butler School of Music (MM ‘24). His primary teachers include Jonathan Gunn, Eli Eban, and Barbara Drapcho. He has also performed in masterclasses for James Campbell, Cecilia Kang, Emil Khudyev, Howard Klug, and Steve Cohen. Daniel will begin his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Texas in Fall 2024.

In addition to his music coursework at IU, Daniel completed a Certificate in Business Foundations from the Kelley School of Business.
